The American Printing House for the Blind has put together the world's most extensive database of books which have been transcribed or recorded. They are receiving good cooperation from the groups and companies in the U.S.A., and their database is very complete. You should search there first if you know of a specific title or author that you want in an alternative format. They call their database Louis (after Louis Braille). Click on this sentence to go there.
